The Annual General Meeting of the Little Ship Club will be held in the Club at 1830 on Tuesday 6 March 2012 following the Annual General Meeting of Little Ship Club Limited.

Nominations for election of Flag Officers, Officers and Committee members, who together form the Board of Little Ship Club Limited, as well as the Committee of the Club, must be received in the Club office by 1700 on Monday, 23 January 2012.

Jubilee Barge design unveiled

The design for the barge that will carry the Queen for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant has been announced. The pageant, for which the Little Ship Club at Bell Wharf Lane will have ringside seats, will mark the Queen's 60 years on the throne in June 2012.

December' Fast Cruise took place on the 3rd December. For over a week before a series of deep depressions had been racing across the Atlantic and early in the week some forecasts were predicting force 9 or 10 for Saturday. Would it be folly to go to the Folly?

Zeeland 2012 cruise update

Planning and organisation continues for the cruise to Zeeland. Here’s an updated itinerary together with notes on the terrific venues we have found for the three functions we have planned. There is also an interactive google map for you with links to the various ports we will be visiting. And there are some pictures as well.

Chartering and crewing Zeeland 2012

Skippers who are planning to charter may want to investigate charter companies in Ostend or Vlissingen. Those interested in doing this should contact the organisers here where they can be put in touch with other skippers planning to charter.  This also applies to those who need or want to be delivery crew.

Skippers should ensure that they have the correct charts for the entire cruise and that they are aware of the national regulations for the waters that they will be sailing in. The Little Ship Club cannot take any responsibility for skippers who do not adhere to local regulations. Nothwithstanding this, here are some pointers to help you on your way.

 

Anchoring lecture throws light on staying put

Due to a problem with First Great Western trains John Goode arrived at the club very shortly before he was due to give the address on anchoring and in fact he had only minutes between arrival and the start of the presentation. Due partly to his preference for a flip chart rather than any form of screen projection he was able to get himself organised within those limited minutes.

One boat has dropped out of the Fast Cruise to the Folly and so there are now a few places available in the pub.
